Life Lately

So as I have been super slack in posting any post at all lately I thought I might as well write to justify my super slackness by saying…”Yeah man, I’ve been just, super busy”.

Well I haven’t just been lazing around the house to clarify and I HAVE been in the process of writing on humongous Vanuatu post that is not at this point finished yet….ugh, I did so many things and had SO much fun while I was over there, totally recommend it to any exotic holiday-er.

Schools been back and been busy. I’ve handed in, and have been given so, so, so, many assignments in the last couple of weeks it’s NOT funny. I had my girlies over for a sleepover we ate so much junk food and watched 5 movies consecutively… tried to talk about guys but considering we already knew everyone’s deep and darkest there was kind of no point.

So now here I am preparing for year 8 camp, thinking about how my parents are ditching me on my birthday, not sure how to reply to an email that really shouldn’t be that hard cause I’m a lazy bum. My nieces, sis and bro-in-law are long gone back to H.K, Ant’s continuing his world travels by going to Canada and I’m here… at home.

It’s the June long weekend, I’ll be going to the movies this arvo with some church friends to see Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and it’s gonna be sick! So just wanted to check in again and hopefully it won’t take me this long to post again!

'Growing Up'

It's a term that I had come to loathe in my earlier childhood years. And whenever the term 'It's all part of growing up', was stated to me I would instantly cringe and mentally ask myself why that person was so....up themselves.

To me it would seem that they know all, knew all and is just about to TELL me all. It would seriously get on my nerves. And that person regardless of who they were, were instantly in my 'bad books' as such.

It's not necessarily the saying itself and I will come back to this later but the tone and context of which it will always, always be used in. For example a conversation will be going like this....(you are talking to an OLDER ~ 40+ adult by the way)

You: "I had a fight with a friend at school today".
Adult: "Really"?
You: "Yeah, my friend got upset over nothing and was, like, full balling her eyes out and everything". "Even though I didn't do anything I was the one that had to say sorry".
Adult: *Gives sympathetic look*, "Listen, Listen, Listen, let me tell you something."
You: *Waiting expectantly for some big chunk of wisdom and knowledge that is going to help the situation*
Adult: "It's all just part of growing up."
You: Yep, there goes name into me bad books.

Is this just me? But that annoys me!!!! I think "Well, why don't you GROW up!" I know that's kind of harsh and mean but really? Is that saying necessary in this context and conversation?

Coming back to the saying itself, I've begun to find out that really there is some truth to it, but not to the context that it will mainly be used in, in todays English language. I've found that there are just some things that you can't pass by in life, you can't build a bypass, you can't detour them and you can't remove them entirely either.

At some point in every singe persons life that has ever come into existence, they are going to ask themselves, Is there a purpose to life? Is there a purpose to living? Is there God worth believing in? How did I get here? And all those other questions that are IMPORTANT to every single persons life.

This is where I think the statement 'It's all part of growing up' could be used in it's proper context. Because really, you can't go through your life without ever asking a question like this. Also I don't think it will be just questions, you can't go through life without having a first crush and first love.

It is just humanly impossible. All of these things and questions are 'part of growing up'. Anyone that's reading this, for future reference, I think it would be wise to remember NOT to say this to me. =D

Too Long

Man, my life is so boring. My sister, she blogs like twice a week and I'm lucky now to get in about twice a month! I don't know if it's just because I'm lazy and and unmotivated or the fact that I know what I write is not going to make any large changes in the world.

It's not going to be emotional, or life-changing. Just on comparison to my sisters blog again, she writes not just for her own personal enjoyment but for her readers. She has so many followers and half the time I don't even know if I'm the only one that reads my own blog.

It's kinda depressing to make that comparison so I'm not gonna go there. But yeah my life is not all that interesting. And now that I sit down and think about it, I have no real reason to write this other that for myself.

And now that I think about I don't lead an awfully interesting life that people want to hear about, because they do exactly the same things in their daily lives. And I don't think you want to hear a normal day re-told to you.

Anyway...I'm bored, my life is boring and this blog...may also equal that. Hope you day has been slightly more interesting than mine! =D

*Insert Title Here*

But I haven't been doing much...because of school cause all I do, think and say now school because I'm back at school. So that's kinda disappointing...but the one thing I have done is begun to look through all my photos...or some of them anyway.

Usually as oppose to LOOKING at my photos I would be taking them... but my camera has gone funny... so yeah. But I thought I'd share with you some of the ones that I really like...I'd love for you to let me know what you think....what ones you like...the ones you don't....I'd love to have feedback.. because I don't get a lot of that....

I mean I must be.....hmm... I dunno friendless....I don't even get E-MAILS!! *Gives Jacinta (friend of mine) severe death stare*. =D So here are some of my photographic efforts... These are mainly my favorite pictures.

These are only a few, I have a couple more that I would love to share with you. And in a couple of days I blog again with some more pics...but don't forget to tell me what you think!! You like? You no like? =D

Holidays, I thought you'd never come...

I am so, so, sorry to all my friends, family who have missed my blog...(just pretend you have even if you haven't...do it for me =D) Holidays are finally here! School is over for two weeks, YES!

You know what? In the past week I probably had the opportunity to write at least three separate posts, but I wasn't up for it. Boy, was I ready for holidays! And thank-goodness you are finally here!

And summer, the heat is starting to creep in back home in Australia, thawing out the garden! The flowers are all out in bloom, the trees and bright and green, nature is at it's best right now. Thank-you Jesus for spring!

I'll have to put up some pictures soon, I've taken up photography as a hobby, well I had ages ago, but never really got into it until now. I love taking pictures of nature at it's best.

I think I have a really strange perspective on the world, I'll take a picture of the smallest thing, for example, this one day I went out and took a picture of this little weed on this step, I thought it looked pretty cute sitting there.

Anyway, I showed my dad when I downloaded them onto the computer and he was like,
"Why on earth did you take a picture of a weed?!"
So I dunno, maybe that's just me.

So yeah. I think I was due for a post, Farewell winter, sadly for you, you will not be missed...SUMMER HERE I COME. And as for you school, I think I have earned a well deserved rest, no school for two weeks! I'll enjoy every minute of it.

Memories...

I've just been looking at pictures of me and my friends and I keep on thinking how important it is to have memories. Although it's so sad to think that in the blink of an eye your moment will become your memory.

That was at the passover lunch in Year 5...how young we were...

Off to Year 6 camp, feels like years ago...

The Year 6 formal dinner at camp...you are such a corny corn *throws corn* hahaha

Shopping, hey babe, we'll always know we're to shop if we ever go to the races...

Cinta's 13th party. before she left for Vanuatu...all the girls together...

Make time for memories in your life, because before you know it time will be gone and your heart will be empty, your heritage will have nothing to show for. Make time for friends and family, because you never know when they may go. Make time for love and laughter, this is what life is all about.

Never forget where you have come from, always believe in where you can go, and in present, live life to the full, love with all you heart and laugh until your stomach hurts.

My Song

In Psalm 118:14 it says,
"The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory."
I didn't know how many of you would know, but I am entering a school talent quest tomorrow (:-s) and as we were doing our family bible reading this even my eyes wandered across the page to this particular verse.

It really stuck with me for some reason. It's like, God you are MY life-song. All that I do, is you. It has all been planned and pre-destined by YOU! You are my strength, when I am weak, you are my song, AND...

He has given us the victory!!! Aren't we a blessed people. Anyway, I am entering into a school talent quest tomorrow, I am going to be playing my song...which I have written to God's glory.

Wait, wait, wait. What did I just say?
"Playing my song..."
In that verse I just shared with you it specifically said that GOD is my song. So this song that I have written from my heart is not my song but God's! This is HIS song! May it be used to honor him.

So yeah, please pray for me, that God's light will been seen through me and that this talent quest would not be about saying "Wow, she's good/bad", but will be about God, how God has been glorified through this situation.

I'll just share the words to my song with you, be blessed:

Who said that I could be forgiven?
You said, Lord, you said.
Who said that I could be made whole again?
You said, Lord, you said

As far as the east is from the west
As high as the heavens above the earth
Our sins are gone
His mercy’s shown among us.

Who said that the enemy would be defeated?
You said, Lord, you said.
Who said that you’d fill me overflowing?
You said, Lord, you said.

As far as the east is from the west
As high as the heavens above the earth
Our sins are gone
His mercy’s shown among us

I will praise you O God for you are Holy
I will praise you O God for you are Worthy
And I’m gonna praise You Lord
I’m gonna praise You.

As far as the east is from the west
As high as the heavens above the earth
Our sins are gone
His mercy’s shown among us

Our sins are gone
His mercy’s shown among us

Everything...

Sorry everyone for the delay in this post, but it's been REAL busy round here lately. It's funny because I've actually attempted to write 2 blogs already and never finished them. There was no 'flow' to my writing. If you know what I mean.

It's like I would get halfway through and then 'Oh no, I've got to go do the dishes'! Or 'Oh no, I've got to go set the table'. So that blog goes out the window.

Life has not been at it's best for me lately, I'll give you an idea of what's going on. So my mum is in Hong Kong, 'supporting my sister'. Which is totally understandable considering the circumstances.

It's me and my dad at home, alone. That's fine for the first week, but by now it's already the end of the second week, I'm pulling my hair out! It is just SO frustrating not having the other half of your dad/mum around which is technically mum/dad.

I've changed classes, new teachers, new routine, new people etc. I'll sum it up with 'new'. I'm no longer with my best friend, fighting with the girls in my classes, and feeling not at all like a good friend to my BEST friend.

I'm constantly 'going to bed late' (eg. 9;30 pm) frustrated with dad, feeling totally out of sync, and then to top it all off while washing the dishes this evening, trying to listen to the conversation my dad is having with my mum, a glass slips out of my slippery hands, crashes into the sink, handle breaks; blood flow begins.

I'm bandaid-ed up, my eyes filling up with tears WISHING that life would hurry up and get better. I can't WAIT for my mum to get home.

It's not my dad, it's not really me (I hope) it's the fact that a vital member of my family if no longer here and we are expected to work as per normal. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!

It's as if someone has chopped off your arm and then life is supposed to flow just like it always has done. A family is a body, it is impossible (not entirely) to live without someone. In my circumstance it is my mum.

My heart crys out for the broken family's, if you're considering this (Breaking up your family that is = Divorce) give it one last shot. Do it for yourselves, and for your children.

Sorry if this have been a bit downcast...well, actually, ALOT downcast. Think of it as a blessing, life could be worse, I'm doing pretty good. I'm alive, I'm breathing. I still do have both of my parents.

I go to a good school, and although life may be hard right now, at this very minute. There is a light at the end of this tunnel, Jesus, he can fix the broken hearted, give peace to the troubled, love to the wounded and a promise to us all.

One day we (I hope anyway) will rise to the clouds to meet our glorious saviour where he will take us home, the dead will rise and all who have suffered will be restored.

And for you, my niece, Maddy, I love you, and no matter how life turns out for you, may your life song sing. You are going to be a blessing to so many people. And when I see you on that glorious day, there will be no more pain and no more tears. All will be well. I love you baby girl! Keep on fighting!

Goodbye July, Welcome to AUGUST!

Today is the 31st of July, so much has happened in the previous months and I know that this year still has SO much more to bring.

I'm still adjusting to class life, I definitely 'prefer' the other class, but the rest of the year doesn't look as bad as it did when the changeover actually happened.

I don't know if you know but my mum is overseas with my sister (who I just visited). My sister, Nicole, is pregnant with a baby with Skeletal Dysplasia, (a genetic deformity) she also has a blog (my initial inspiration to start my own) called Holding on to Hope.

Her and her husbands journey is a story of trials and tribulations that they have endured to hold out for the prize. I truly believe that their story and this little girl will bless SO many people. I too will Hold on to the Hope of your story.

Anyway, yeah, my mum is over there for the birth (which has NOT occurred yet) of this little girl. My dad and I are at home, by ourselves. 'Trying' to juggle everything that mum does. I have NO idea how on earth she does it. Mum you are my wonder woman!

But anyways, there's still about a week left until mum comes home and me and dad are already anxiously waiting for the day when she arrives!

At youth last night one of the guys gave a talk and again and just this one statement that he made struck me.
"Our walks with God are like a road, when you turn a corner you don't know what's coming, you don't know if there's a car there, or a pothole. It's always the unexpected. But we need to be like little children, because if a young child is afraid they with cling to their mum or dad. We need to cling to God".
Lately my life has been a turn in the road. For some people this would have been as easy as anything but for me? Well that's another story. All I know is that this stretch of road doesn't last forever and if I cling to my father and seek his face he will NEVER let me go.

It is getting better, and hey? The best is yet to come! Hello August 2010!

Back to Reality

Just a reality check for me, looking at my blog posts I've realised I could so just call my blog, 'life' because that's all I seem to talk about. But really that's just what goes on in my head.

But in reality (outside my head, if I'm talking about my blog that is) my birthday is in 4 days, my party in 2 and I leave for Hong Kong in 6 days! I spent today at Koorong with my friend and mum and her friend.

My holidays (which is really the first week because the next week and the next I spend in Hong Kong) are PACKED! But that's good at least I know I'm living my life to 'full'. =D

Another reality check is that my friend, Jacinta, (who lives in Vanuatu, she moved at the start of the year), is gone. She's not on a long holiday, but I won't see her for another year or so, probably. It's hitting me hard knowing that we were so close and now in a literal sense she's far away.

So now birthday wishes are sent through the mail along with virtual kisses and hugs through the internet. Though I praise God because if this were 10 years ago there would have been no such thing as 'Skype' and 'Facebook'. I can 'feel' close to her even though kilometres of ocean separate us.

Even with this I can feel peace because I know that if I don't see her again in this earthly life, I WILL see her again one day...in heaven.

The Rainbow of my Life

I just made this up...
"The rainbow of my life, my friends you are the colour, my God you are the sun and my family you the raindrops!"

Just wanted to let all my friends and loved ones know that I appreciate you and you are important to me! I don't know what I would do with out y'all.

Recently been reminiscing and thinking of all the good times past, and the memories that have been made, I've been thinking about my life and the morals and standards I set out for my life NOW will be what I stick to for the rest of my life...They will be my memories.

Although I realise I'm far from prefect now I'm setting goals to reach the sky's, because as my pastor says,
"If you don't look where you are going you will go where you are looking."
So instead of staring at the ground I've decided to set me some goals. I want to change some things in my life and I wanted to share this with anyone who cares to read this, I encourage set yourself some goals and remember to shoot for the sky's!

L-I-F-E

Hey peoples, what's goin' on in all your worlds. Well mines spinning round in circles, with teenage love and drama...oh the pain of this hard life and to think it's only beginning....

Life, I heard it once described in a book I read,
'Tis something to be enjoyed...'
My life right now... would you call it enjoyable? It's spinning round in circles... guess what a circle is round. So really in going nowhere other than in circles...

Ha ha, I just looked at my blog so far and I've left you with a lot of 'dot, dot, dots (...)' that probably means I'm thinking bout' someone/thing but I don't want y'all to find out so I'm just gonna leave you hanging.(..)

What is my interpretation of life? Well life is...

L
iving everyday
In love, and sometimes I
Find I get a bit confused...but I'll continue to live
Everyday to the glory of my saviour, Jesus!

Well, hey, that's life.
